Mayco Stoneware Brush-On: Oyster 473ml
-
Cone 6: Oyster is a variegated cream/brown glaze that exhibits gray/purple undertones and breaks brown.
-
Cone 10: Color changes to a variegated brown/cream. Increased movement.
- If your kiln fires cool the glaze finish can be brown. If your kiln fires hotter you can get an iridescent finish. Re fire piece if you don’t desire the brown finish you get when it is fired cool. This glaze has a gloss finish. If you like Green Tea and Capri Blue combos, then try oyster because these three glazes are in the same glaze family.
- Also available in dry format 2SD110-5
Stoneware classic glazes offer the depth, sophistication and reliability to artists working from mid-range to high-fire temperatures. Many glazes will break over textures, revealing secondary colors and shades. Used alone, stoneware glazes produce beautiful color variations. One coat will allow the clay body to show through the glaze and two to three coats deeper the color. The choice of clay body, thickness of glaze application, firing process and temperature will affect the fired finish.
