Firing Temp 1160-1280ºC
PF690
This red stoneware is suitable for potters seeking high fire red clay. This is a textured clay body which is excellent for handbuilding without the fear of slumping. It can also be used as a Red Raku body. While it is possible to throw with this clay the grog is quite abrasive so can be quite challenging. With outstanding plasticity and the right amount of tooth makes it resistant to warping, cracking and thermal shock. At 1160-1220 firing yields a brick red colour. Increasing the temperature to 1220-1280 the colour gradually darkens to rich reddish brown.
