Acting as a flux and modifying the color of metallic oxides, SrCO3, also known as Strontium Carbonate, is a highly effective ingredient used in glazes for high temperature ceramics. It displays similar properties to barium carbonate and excessive amounts can result in the precipitation of a crystalline matt surface.
